Northeast Georgia Children's Environmental Health Coalition

MISSION: The Northeast Georgia Children's Environmental Health Coalition is a network organized to address the growing concern of environmental toxicants in the lives of children. Our focus is to educate our community on links between environmental hazards and children's health, and at the same time promote prevention and precautionary action.

MICAH's Mission partnered with the Northeast Georgia Health District to form the Northeast Georgia Children's Environmental Health Coalition.   The coalition is a network organized to address the growing concern of environmental toxicants in the lives of children.

Our focus is to educate our community on links between environmental hazards and children's health, and at the same time promote prevention and precautionary action.

The Northeast Georgia Children's Environmental Health Coalition meets the first Tuesday of every month at 12:00.   Our current location of meeting is in the Conference Room of the Athens-Clarke County Department of Family & Children's Services on 284 North Ave. Everyone is invited to attend and the event is always free.

MICAH's Mission is also a member of the Partnership for Children's Health and the Environment and supports the following Principles:

*All children have the right to healthy homes, healthy child care facilities, healthy schools and healthy communities; and

*All children and adults have the right to know about proven and potential hazards to their environmental health and safety.
